4th of July

This year we went to the Rexburg parade. It was nice this year because it was a little cooler in the morning. The kids had a good time, but we ended up leaving a little early. Two hours at the parade is plenty for us.

Austin

Macy, she is way into posing for pictures lately.

Carter, Jase, Austin, Grandma Bird, Macy & Grandpa Bird at the fireworks in Hamer. I love this fireworks show, you can easily find a spot to sit, the fireworks only last for about 30 - 45 min. and you can get right out on the road when they are over.

Monkey Boy

Carter is so funny. He will climb up on anything and everything. I can't keep him off the counters, off the fridge or out of the pantry. And he is fast too, he can scale the counter so fast. I walked by the pantry the other day and caught him in there and grabbed the camera. He was a pretty good sport to put his candy finding off for a minute while he posed for a picture.

Nothing says summer like playing in the sprinkler

It has been so hot that the kids love to run through the sprinkler to cool down. Only problem is that we do this 3 or 4 times a day. They sure are brave. That water was so cold, I couldn't get in it, but they were soaked and lovin' it.

Camping

We had our first family camping trip this past weekend. Now I remember why we don't go camping. It was so much work, but it was worth it when Carter woke up Saturday morning and stumbled out of the tent with the biggest grin on his face. The favorite part of the trip was all of the fishing we were able to do. We caught so many fish that we had to start throwing them back because there was no way we could eat all of them. It was hot and sunny during the day and cooled down at night so we all cuddled together in the tent. I was even surprised, the mosquito's weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be. After we got home Jase asked Austin if he had fun and Austin said yes, but he really didn't want to go back and camp but could we please go back and do more fishing.

Happy Father's Day

We had a really fun father's day. We went to Jase's parents house and grilled ribs. They turned out so good, probably because the king of the grill did the cooking. We had a fun dinner and then came home to relax. We were lucky too because the rain stayed away long enough for us to grill and enjoy some time outside.

Rexburg Air Show

This Saturday was the air show in Rexburg. It is a lot of fun. This year we were worried that we would be sitting in the rain to watch it, but we lucked out. The rain stayed away while we watched the show and as we got into the pickup it started to sprinkle. This is a father's day weekend tradition for us. Jase loves watching the old planes fly and I will admit they are pretty cool. This morning it was a little cooler but it warmed up and because of the cloud cover it was really comfortable weather.

Sheering Sheep

Today dad came over to sheer our sheep. I had to ask him if he remembered how. It's been a really long time since he has sheered sheep. Here are our hairy little lambies before their hair cuts.
Macy, Austin & Carter checking out how this is done. They were so excited that we got to put halters on the sheep. They led them all over the corral.

After hair cuts. They always look so naked.
