Every year I have put together an easter egg hunt for the kids. This year we decided to go the egg hunt in Rexburg. I thought that it would be so much fun for the kids. I think that it turned out more tramatic than fun. Macy was upset and crying when we were done because she only had 2 eggs. The kids were mean and pushed and she didn't like any of it. Austin did better. He went with the flow and ended up with 7 eggs (which he shared some of with his sister). And then there is Carter who could care less about gathering eggs. He got one egg because his mom made him get it. After our tragedy I thought that it might be a good idea to do something fun to erase the easter egg hunt from their minds. We packed a lunch and headed to Hamer where Jase is planting grain. We had a tailgate picnic. Lots more fun than the egg hunt. The kids had a blast and it was so warm outside. I got a sunburn in the hour we were outside. Pretty unusual for an Easter weekend in Idaho to have sun but we were soaking it all in.

Mary had a little lamb
Grandpa Bird decided that the kids needed some bum lambs to take care of. He kept them for the first few weeks to get them going and then brought them to our house. I had the most excited kids. They spent the entire day outside with their lambs. They absolutely love feeding them. Carter would wait up in his bed until he would hear me come out at 10pm to go feed and would go with me. I will admit they have been kind of fun to have around.

Our new Pond
I have always wanted a pond in my yard, just not in the driveway. I can't believe how much snow is melting. It is like having a lake in the front yard. I think that the ground is still froze so the water doesn't have anywhere to go. I can't complain though, I am anxious for spring to get here, so we will wade through puddles as long as the snow keeps melting.

Spring Fever!!!
I know that in Idaho it is probably way too early to be excited about spring. I mean we had snow on the ground last year until June, but I am so excited for spring. I can hardly wait. Today it was 50 degrees and there was a lot of melting snow outside which made me even more excited. I could see dirt in some spots and some of the grass where the snow had been pushed back. There is definately a lot of standing water. I can deal with the puddles as long as it warms up.

Abraham Lincoln
I thought this was so cool. This is at the Hibbard Elementary school in Rexburg. It has been a little warmer during the days so he has melted a little, but I was so impressed that someone had made this.
