Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Lots of presents lots of fun. We got up and opened presents, then ate breakfast and then we got ready to go to Mudlake to spend the rest of Christmas with my mom and dad. Well, Idaho weather had another plan. We had received Christmas Eve 2 feet of new snow. Being Christmas the roads didn't get plowed until later that day, so we ended up going out at 4pm. We weren't going to go but I am so glad that we did. It just wasn't Christmas without seeing mom & dad. The kids got lots of new clothes and were excited to wear them.

Christmas Eve

The Rumsey's always do their family party on Christmas Eve. It is a lot of fun, we exchange and open up all of our presents, have a huge meal and everyone has a great time. This is especially fun because the kids get to open up some presents a little early, and it helps Christmas eve to go by a little faster. Our little family after the party.

Jase & Lexxi. We had to buy our little niece this cute Bronco's outfit. Usually her mom and dad come over on Sunday's and we have a lot of fun watching all of the NFL games, relaxing and eating yummy things. Her daddy is a huge Miami Dolphins fan and we at our house are big Bronco's fans, so we had to get her this outfit. Even her daddy thought she looked pretty cute in orange and blue.

Ward Christmas Party

The ward Christmas party was really fun this year. It is kind of like a ward reunion. There are a lot of people that come back for this party. They had a really nice roast beef dinner for everyone. Mom & Dad came over to spend some time with us. It was really fun to have them there to see the kids see Santa.

Austin seeing Santa. He loved Santa. He met Santa at the door and walked right behind him all the way up to the stage. Then he proceed to sit on Santa's lap not once, but three times. He would just butt his way to the front of line and keep going around and around.

Macy & Santa. She was excited to let him know what she wanted for Christmas but she was pretty shy when it came right down to talking to him.

Carter hated everything about Santa. He didn't want us talking to Santa, he didn't want to watch the other kids talk to Santa, he DID NOT want to sit on his lap. Good thing Santa is so loving, Carter still got lots of presents.

Cold Weather Playing

Well life decided to take our family on a detour this last fall. Jase's job started talking about cut backs and days off without pay due to the economy, so we decided that the best thing for us was to go back to farming. Jase's boss was so good to us, he took Jase back as if he had never left. We will always be grateful to him for being so kind and taking care of us. In the process, this meant another move for our family. Not exactly something I was excited about having to do, but something that had to be done. We stayed with Jase's mom and dad for a few months while we found a house. It was a lot of fun for the kids to get to spend that special time with their grandma & grandpa.

For some reason the boys got into wearing the snow boots around the house with their gloves while they pretened to be superhero's. Carter insisted that he wear his sisters pink boots. Austin thought he was really cool when he got to wear teh goggles.

Helping Dad

Jase just got back from a week in Boise. I definately think that he was missed. Austin was very excited to be able to help his dad wax the pickup. Even though it was kind of cold outside, he needed a rag to help. I am so glad that he has the opportunity to learn from his dad.

I Voted!!

I did my civil duty this morning and voted. It is an exciting election this year. No matter how you vote, history will be made. I have to say that I will definately be glad when this election is over, but I am excited to watch tv tonight to see how it all turns out. Jase had to be out of town today so we had to do an absentee ballot for him. He voted a few days ago. I decided that next time, that is what I am going to do to. I had to take the boys with me today, and they were really good. They got stickers, balloons and cookies. They asked me on the way out if they could come back again. This is a special election for my mom this year too. It is the first time in her life that she will get to cast her ballot for the President of the United States of America. She just got her citizenship. I am so proud of her and very excited for her to have this opportunity.

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or treat 2008. Our new ward did the trunk or treat on Tuesday, so that everyone could still go trick or treating on Friday. It started at 6pm and this is Carter, Austin & Jase waiting for all the excitment. Notice the short sleeves and lack of winter clothing. It was a beautiful night. I can't ever remember trick or treating without coats, even when I was a kid. After the trunk or treat, they had drinks and games inside the church. It was a lot of fun.

Carter & Austin

Friday night we took the kids to a neighborhood and let them go door to door trick or treating. Macy was a little confused about what we were doing, and I had so much fun explaining to her that she was going to be trick or treating like I did as a kid. The first few houses they were pretty shy and unsure of what they were doing, but they caught on quick and it was fun to see their excitment as they caught the Halloween spirit. Jase and I walked with them, and it was such a nice night. Warm, no one even wore a jacket (Shocker!!!) What a fun Halloween we had this year.
